Revolving Doors:

Greater London Assembly

Design Brief & Overview

Two individual revolving doors, which can be converted into one large permanent opening during the day and return to individual door sets at night. 4500 mm high one piece of glass.

The all-glass canopy is oval to cover both independent revolving doors. The curved glass walls of each revolving door (abutting inner glass walls) can rotate and slide behind the outer curved glass walls forming the drum.

Afterwards the rotating glass leaves of each door can collapse and slide to the extreme sides of each drum, thus achieving one large permanent opening in the summer or when a large influx of people is expected. During the winter months the glass can be returned to the closed position enabling traffic to flow through the two independent revolving doors.
